Data Privacy Policy

 

Personal Information

To enable it to function, the Band holds some limited personal information about its members, supporters and donors who participate in its activities.

This notice is to set out the Band’s policy with regard to the data it holds and the limited purposes for which it is used.

We collect and use this information to:

  • To administer the membership of the Band and the organisation and running of the Band
  • To contact members and supporters to make them aware of Band events and other activities
  • To maintain records of Band members, supporters and donors
  • To comply with our Constitution regarding stored data (for example notifying Band members of AGMs and other formal communications)

The categories of information that we collect and hold include:

  • Personal information (such as name, address, email address, home telephone number, and mobile telephone number)
  • Attendance data (such as at any events we organise) for statistical purposes
  • Photos and videos of Band members taking part in Band events

We will not share your data with any third parties apart from those stated in this document and will certainly not use it for any direct marketing

Storing data

  • We hold data whilst you are a Band member, supporter or donor in line with our data protection policy
  • Data is stored manually in documentary form and electronically on the personal computers of Officers of the Band and persons appointed by the Band for particular purposes (such as notification of Band news and events and other activities)

 

Sharing Data

We routinely share information as follows:

  • Officers and members members of the Band receive appropriate information to enable them to fulfil their duties such as administering the Band and the organising and running of Band events
  • Photos or videos of members and supporters taking part in Band events may be posted on social media channels and on any website we may use or the websites of other organisations which may be involved in Band activities

 

Requesting access to your personal data

Under data protection legislation, Band members, supporters and donors have the right to request access to the information that we hold. To make a request for your personal information we hold about you, contact should be made to the Band Secretary

Band members, supporters and donors also have the right to:

  • Object to processing of personal data that is likely to cause, or is causing, damage or distress
  • In certain circumstances, have inaccurate personal data rectified, blocked, erased or destroyed
