We had our first concert of the season last week at Morton Hall for the Castletown Over 60's Club. A good crowd was there to enjoy the playing, the bingo and the refreshments.

The night started with Sempre Fidelis and included the overture The Lonely Mill, You'll Never Walk Alone, Castell Coch and finished with Florentiner March.

We had a number of soloists performing, including 2 first time soloists. First was Chloe Muldoon who played Annie's Song. Not only was it her first solo, but for Chloe who plays with Balley Cashtal Brass (our training band) this was also the first time she'd played with the senior band. Second up was Malcolm Black, although a very experienced player, Malcolm had also never played a solo with us. For this occassion he chose Lennon and McCartney's Yesterday.

Our final soloist was Rhianne Charnley, and for her first solo with the band she'd chosen the cornet solo, Solitaire.

Continuing with the first theme, it was also the first concert for our new percussionist Andrew Epplestone.

Well done to all the soloists.

The night ended with the usual game of bingo accompanied by sandwiches and sausage rolls!
