Castletown Lights

A large crowd gathered in Castletown Square this evening to join in the celebrations of turning on this years' Christmas lights.

During the afternoon a number of groups provided entertainment, finishing off with the band playing a selection of seasonal songs before the crowd were invited to join the band, and a small group of singers from the local church, in singing some favourite carols.

This was followed with the lights being switched on by the Festival Princess. Unfortunately just as the lights went on and the band were playing 'Joy to the World', the lights on the stage went out! But like true professionals the band played on.

As well as the lights around town provided by the Commissioners, Manx National Heritage have floodlit the castle and projected a Christmas message and figures onto the walls. Well worth going to Castletown to see.

If you couldn't get to Castletown today we hope to see you at one of our other engagements during December.
