Yet again this summer, all eyes were on the sky on the evening of Saturday 5th August. As the band and crowds gathered at Victoria Road School in Castletown for the annual Castletown Carnival, a few drops of rain threatened to put paid to the parade. However, these came to nothing and the parade went ahead.

The band started proceedings off by playing a few pieces whilst waiting for the fancy dress judging to finish before setting off on the 2 mile parade around the streets of Castletown.

A decent sized band of 22 formed up and led the parade starting with the classic Slaidburn and going through other marches, True and Trusty, First Parade, Winsford and Ivanhoe.

After the parade the party started with the large crowd in Castletown Square enjoying the confetti carnival and then music from the stage.
