Peel Pensioners Club

The band performed a number of new pieces which are likely to become firm favourites over the year, starting the concert with a rousing opener, Spirit of Pageantry. This was followed by a flugel solo, Dimitri, played by Arthur Christian, who didn’t have far to travel as he lives in Peel! The band then went on to play Manx Rhapsody by Haydyn Wood. This has a particular resonance with the band as the brass band arrangement was done by the bands former musical director, Major ‘Tommy’ Thirtle.
