Bandroom Extension

After leading a nomadic life for the last couple of months with the band rehearsing in Morton Hall and Castletown Methodist Church Hall (thanks to both the Castletown Over 60's Club and the Methodist Church), and although not officially opened yet, the band re-occupied the bandroom after work was completed just after Christmas.

As well as building an extension on the side of the building to house the bands library, instrument store and cloakroom, the rehearsing area now has heating (much needed during the winter evenings), more space for our percussion section to spread out, doors which close properly and newly insulated walls. Such is the improvement that members have been seen to take off winter coats and thick woolly jumpers, something that would never have happened before the work was done!

The fund raising continues, we have now sold 477 bricks raising £4,770. Thanks to everyone who has supported us by buying bricks.

There are still a number of small things to complete, and when done we will be organising an official opening ceremony. We will also have some photos of the finished work so watch this space.

If there is anyone out there who would like to either learn to play a brass instrument (or percussion) or resume a musical career, come down and see us on either a Tuesday night at 7.30pm or a Sunday night at 7pm.
