• Plan for the bandroom extension.

  • In 2011 the band took the decision to look at extending and renovating the current bandroom in Queens Street, Castletown which they have occupied for well over 60 years. The plan is to build a single storey extension on the side of the building, the old Temperance Hall, and then to renovate the inside, repairing and damp-proofing the walls, installing a false ceiling and central heating.

To help raise funds to pay for this work the band have launched a Buy a Brick Campaign. Click on the link for more details.

06/12/2012 Bandroom Extension

Our Buy a Brick campaign has now sold 432 bricks raising a total so far of £4320.

Building work is now complete and the floor has been tiled. There are now just a few minor points to be dealt with inside, such as the skirting boards and rehanging a couple of doors. Once the plaster has dried we will then be to start painting the inside and getting some carpet on the floor.

Commenting, Rodney said “Hopefully we should be able to get back in the bandroom shortly after Christmas”.
